Day 8 was a free day.
It was also raining very hard so I couldn’t really whip out my phone to take photos.
We started late (because we were really worn out from 7 days of walking around), and decided to take things at a more relaxed pace. We headed to several places: Itaewon to have lunch, Nandaemun for shopping, and then Insadong for late tea, before heading back to Myeongdong for dinner.
Itaewon
Itaewon is the heart of all (many) things international. It also has a club trip. The roads go up and down pretty steeply so you need to bring a lot of stamina with you.
Itaewon Halal Pizza and Burger
There are two halal pizza places (or maybe more) at Itaewon. In any case, it was a refreshing break from the mostly middle eastern food we had been having for the past week or so. (Although, in general I was very tired of eating.) The place we went to was upwards at Usadan-ro (look at the red picker below). The slope nearly killed me.

It started raining cats and dogs while we were headed here. Thankfully there were seats, and we took our time to have lunch.
Nandaemun Market
Nandaemun Market is a collective of low buildings (around up to 4 storeys) with shops selling a variety of goods, from brooches to clothes, house things like bedsheets, wholesale souvenirs, etc. Not gonna lie, we wandered around really lost. Had to open up the map to find the way out of there.
The market is a short walk away from the Hoehyeon subway station.

Tip: When you’re there, you may want to walk on Seoullo 7017, which is an elevated, linear park in Seoul that was converted from a highway.
Insadong
(again)
Jeontong Chatjib
This time round, we were back at another teahouse in Insadong. The menu consists of various tea and traditional dessert. They claim to be vegan-friendly as well. The shop is on the ground floor, and furnished with wooden furniture. You wouldn’t miss it! The servers don’t seem to speak English though.

All in all, I thought the food and drinks were pretty good. A definite recommendation.
