I have never planned on going to South Korea.
I have never intended to go to the places that I ended up going – and I realised that it is becoming a trend –
Not planning to go India – went 2016
Not planning to go Australia – went 2017
Not planning to go South Korea – went 2018
And in the meantime, the places that I do want to go, remain “not yet”.
All in all, I stayed a total of 6 nights in South Korea, specifically Seoul. Not long enough a period for me – but it was all I could afford (time-wise).
Anyway, South Korea was unplanned until a friend asked if I’d like to go. I’ll admit, the motivating factor for me going to South Korea would be because I’ve been very into BTS lately, and being on the trip and seeing the places they were at, being on a BTS pilgrimage of sorts sounded fun.
And so, the trip was set.
By the way, the government’s tourist campaign is called “I Seoul U” – kind of cute I feel. They seem to have a few celebrities endorsing it. Obviously I’d be sharing BTS’.
I wanted to find the “I SEOUL U” sign, but I forgot.
Overall, Seoul has its charms – if you like your holidays where everything is convenient and in a city setting, you will love Seoul.
P/S – I did not cry on leaving Seoul.
