Ladakh Day 8

This is a post long time coming. Two holidays later, and I am still not done writing about my adventures in Ladakh. I guess there are no words that can quite describe my feelings at this point. Nothing  I can put down eloquently enough, honestly enough, and true enough.

This day was to be our eighth day in Ladakh, and the second last day before we would fly back to Delhi. The plan for that day? Rafting on Zanskar River at Nimmo.

We, being of the gentle-hearts, decided to take the shorter 60 min route. However, our fears were unfounded and we did not get very wet, except for shoes. (I recommend wearing waterproof model like from the brand Columbia.) To be honest, it was not exciting at all – we were definitely in the wrong season to be doing rafting.

We did a little tourist shopping after. Note: while Tsomoriri had quartz, granite and marble in abundance on the ground, the roadside stalls selling gem jewellery doesn’t seem to be selling original stones.

That said, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT pocket the rocks from the ground.
