Would I go to Penang again?

Absolutely! If only to go to Penang Hill again and spend 500RM on coffee beverages.

I found the food quite over-rated. Hey, I think Singapore can hold its own here. So foodie enthusiasts, please swing by Singapore!

One of the biggest changes, and I think this is for the better, is the fact that the camera I had brought for the trip was a complete deadweight. I hadn’t checked out the camera before I packed it, and it had been a while since I switched it on. I didn’t realise that the lens inside was spotted, so any photograph I tried to capture was marred with 3 dark spots.

In the end, I had to use my phone, Samsung S6, and the photographs were actually pretty decent.

I’ve always had problems taking photographs – I tend to be so engrossed in the new environment that I would totally forget to reach out for the camera and snap. But with a mobile in my hand permanently (a really bad habit for this generation, I know), I actually snapped quite a fair bit of photographs, only faltering a slight bit at the end of the trip. But hey, I got over that first day curse, where I only take photos on the first day of the trip and zilch for the rest.
