Lunch
Lunch was at a small (nasi padang) shop overlooking the Floating Mosque at Tanjung Bungah.
It was quite cheap (comparative to Singapore). While a plate with 1 meat and 1 vege might cost SG$4.50, it costs only 4RM here.
Can you guess which dish cost how much? Hover over to see!
This is probably useless information, but what I noticed about the rice from the rice stalls so far is that bits of the rice still had husks on. I guess…that would probably be somewhat mixed brown rice?
Spice Garden
We actually passed by this place, but the line seemed long and the sun was just burning burning our skins. So we gave it a miss.
Tropical Fruit Farm
We drove past Telok Bahang, where the driver briefly introduced it to us as Penang’s dam. The road was a zig-zag up the hill, past durian plantations and road-side stalls that would only be busy during the season (June-Augish). I was really working my core.
15-20 min later, we finally pulled into the tropical fruit farm.
The management runs a tour of the farm at 40RM/pax, which we gave a miss, cos the weather and time issues.
Instead, we bought passionfruit, and coconut to eat while we enjoyed the torturous road and the beautiful view below us.
At the point of time, the variety of fruits were not much. I recommend giving this place a miss unless you really want to eat passionfruit (coconuts and bananas seem to be available all the time, and everywhere so you need not suffer the zig-zag just to have them).
